Dogwoof Berlin 2013 report

2013 is already off to a great start for film festivals (read our Sundance report here if you missed it) and over the last week Dogwoof's Yung, Vesna and Ana were all at the Berlin Film Festival. Yung was with Ken Loach helping co-ordinate the world premiere of The Spirit of '45, which we are releasing here on 15th March. Meanwhile Dogwoof Global's Vesna and Ana went shopping for docs as well as working their usual charm as sales agents repping our titles.

The Spirit of '45 premiere (pictured) was a huge success - see pics and more here, with everyone riding high and looking forward to the UK launch. Yung's highlight of the festival though was the great Pancake Day brunch hosted by the BFI - it was great having such a strong contingent of Brits discussing films and eating pancakes. Yung also caught up with our lovely friends at Screen International and captured all the press coverage on our films in print.

Meanwhile Ana and Vesna were busy watching, buying and selling, this marking the first year that Dogwoof had a stand at EFM. The huge news is that they brought back the UK and global rights for Sundance hit Blackfish, and you can read our blog on this for more details. Posters for F*ck For Forest were popping up all over the festival, and they were by far the most sought after postcards. Meanwhile rights were sold to various global territories for The House I Live In, Jason Becker Not Dead Yet, F*ck For Forest and The Ridge.

The girls were also joined by Dogwoof designer Mike, who was at Making Waves for London Film School, where they're using The Spirit of '45 as a poster test case. Vesna also offered her expertise, participating in the Meet the Docs panel organised by European Documentary Network (pictured).

Hard work aside, there was still time to squeeze in the usual parties with big shoutouts to the events hosted by Cinereach, Euroimages and The British Council. It was great to hang out with 112 Weddings producer Lori as well as all our sales agent and distribution friends.

A great time was had by all, and it's great to return to London with more than 30 finished films or projects in development to be discussed at our next acquisition meeting....
